Persecution of Assange continues

It’s been little over a month since I last posted here about the poor treatment of Julian Assange, by foreign governments seeking to persecute him as well as our own that refuses to protect him, but sadly the situation has continued to develop for the worse.

On Friday Assange’s supporters in Sydney called a snap rally as British police closed in around the Ecuadorian embassy in London and threatened to violate that nation’s sovereignty by bursting in and arresting him.  Once again I addressed this rally as a representative of the Greens, speaking out against the mad witch hunt that governments throughout the world are engaged in as they struggle to keep truth out of the hands of ordinary citizens.  My speech from the rally can be found here, footage from the rally, beginning with my speech, is also online here.
