Footprints for Peace reaches Sydney.

A group of remarkable women, walking from Brisbane to Canberra to raise awareness of renewable energy and the threat of nuclear weapons, will be passing through Sydney in early May. Lead by 69 year old June Norman the group left Brisbane in February and will arrive in Canberra on the 25th of May. There they will present Prime Minister Kevin Rudd with a number of positive messages to urge him to do all within his power to keep Australia and the world safe from the dangers of nuclear weapons. For more information on their journey see their website.

I, in conjunction with Sydney Lord Mayor Clover Moore, will be hosting a welcome for this brave group at Sydney Town Hall and would encourage everyone to come along and show their support for the cause. An official invitation is required to attend the event so anyone interested should email me (see contacts page) before Monday 19th of April to be added to the list. Hope to see you there in solidarity!
